If teeth are not maintained in their new position it tends to shift back to their old position. This relapse can occur upto 18months post treatment. We recommend you to wear removable retainer for full time except cleaning and meal times for first 6-9months.
After that it can be worn at night for1-3years. If you skip wearing retainer for a few weeks or months, teeth may shift and retainer may not fit properly.
